I recently talked about late-season snow in May (Sometimes the Snow Comes Down in May), but I didn’t expect to have the opportunity to talk about snowfall in June, too. I do, though, since a late-season storm brought accumulating snow to parts of Montana and North Dakota over the weekend.
The snow accumulated in parts of western and central North Dakota, which includes are that are not in the mountains, so this was a very impressive late-season snow. The Weather Channel, when they were taking a break from showing a nearly non-stop video loop of the one tornado that the Vortex 2 team has managed to see in a month of non-stop searching, mentioned that Dickinson had two inches of snow.
A National Weather Service page from North Dakota gives a short list of snowfall amounts from Saturday.
