First Day of Fall Means One Thing——Snow!

If you think that the arrival of falls simply means brightly colored fall foliage, crisp apples, and pumpkins on every corner, then you’ve never been in the mountains of Colorado–where fall also means snow! In fact, the first day of fall arrived with the few snowstorm of the season.

The storm produced nearly a foot of snow in mountains to the West of Denver, with widespread reports of two to 10 inches.

Snow is not uncommon in this area in the fall or spring  (Sometimes the Snow Comes Down in May), but it’s in sharp contrast to the heat being produced by the high pressure system just to the west of the storm in the Rockies. High temperatures on Tuesday will be near 100 degrees in the hills around San Francisco and in the valleys to the east of Los Angeles (California Heat, Fire Danger–Global Warming?).
