Since Weather Whys has a national focus, I want the blog to have a national focus as well, but I can’t be everywhere. Fortunately, my blog friends can be, and with that in mind I’ve just decided to start a new feature, coast-to-coast weather news.
Here are a few highlights from this fine Saturday evening: (blogging on a Saturday evening–sho says meteorologists are geeks?)
Abnormal is Normal
Erik articulately explains something that I strongly agree with–that the word “average” is much more appropriate than “normal” when talking about the weather (Why “normals” don’t necessarily always seem normal).
Weather Wimps–Not in the Northwest
Scott Sistek from Partly to Mostly Bloggin’ (tell me that’s not a good name for a blog) writes an entertaining piece about how Seattle residents are tougher about the weather than people in the East give them credit for. Hey New York and Minnesota, We’re Tough in Our Own Way).
His approach reminds me of my plan to do a stand-up routine about weather humor.
Speaking of Northwest Rain
Cliff Mass talks about the potential for serious flooding in Washington State (Potentially Serious Olympic Flooding).
Stubborn Ida
Several blogs are talking about the rainfall, flooding, and storm damage from the remnants of Ida, including pictures from a few:
More Denver Snow
Finally, Steve has the latest of snow in Colorado (Live Images from Denver).
