In terms of the number of named storms, the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season is now more active than normal by about a week, and by the looks of the satellite image, the active part of the season is just beginning.
We have the well-defined Hurricane Danielle and the newly formed Tropical Storm Earl, along with another impressive wave moving into the eastern Atlantic. That might become Tropical Storm Fiona in the coming days.
